DRYLAND
We were responsible for designing and creating an elite FINA-spec (World Aquatics) dryland training center that met the highest international standards.
Our team managed the project from inception to completion, supplying and installing all diving equipment, and conducting a full fit-out.
POOLSIDE
We were entrusted with installing five Duraflex shortstands and springboards, contributing to the center's Olympic-standard diving facilities.
WHY
The Aquatic Place, situated in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, is a shining example of excellence in aquatic sports. DiveGym had the privilege of collaborating with some of the world's leading aquatic architects to create this extraordinary facility as part of the European Games in 2015. The center stands as a testament to the power of global sporting events in uniting nations and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
WHAT
The Aquatic Place was brought to life through the combined efforts of a multinational team, with DiveGym playing a pivotal role. The facility boasts an Olympic-standard aquatic center set within the multi-sport park. It includes a dedicated dryland training facility that adheres to the new FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation) (now known as World Aquatics) regulations, as well as a full Olympic-standard competition diving pool. DiveGym not only delivered this world-class facility but also collaborated with FINA (World Aquatics) to advise architects in developing the new global FINA (World Awuatics) standards.
HOW
DiveGym was instrumental in the design and construction phases, working closely with world-class architects and contractors to ensure that the facility not only met but exceeded FINA (World aquatics) regulations, optimizing it for coaching and future use. We managed the intricate logistics of shipping all the Drydive Equipment from the UK to Azerbaijan and completed the installation in a matter of weeks. Following installation, we provided full technical support for elite divers during the European Games event, which featured a full multisport program.
FUTURE
Following the successful European Games, The Aquatic Place continues to serve as a hub for elite athletes in the region, offering top-notch training and competition facilities. The legacy of the European Games lives on, and The Aquatic Place remains a symbol of Baku's commitment to fostering talent and promoting aquatic sports. DiveGym is proud to have been part of this remarkable project, which continues to inspire and empower athletes in the region.
