WHY

At DiveGym we were thrilled to be part of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games project. Bringing people together, improving health and wellbeing and acting as a catalyst for change, Sandwell Aquatics Centre is leading the way as one of the few fully accessible competition pools in the world.

WHAT

DiveGym was part of a team that delivered a centre that exceeded FINA (Now Known as World Aquatics) regulations. With a full competition diving pool and an innovative, forward thinking drydive, the centre pushes the boundaries of how we look at training design. The fully co-ordinated dryland space boasts 5 dryboards, foam pit, deck level sprung floor, highly intuitive video replay system and much much more.

HOW

For this facility, DiveGym were instrumental in the design and build phases, we worked closely with the architects and contractors to ensure that the FINA (World Aquatics) regulations were not only met but optimised for coaching and future use.

FUTURE

After a successful Commonwealth Games in 2022, the facility will be transformed into a state-of-the-art leisure centre. Divegym will continue to support the team by adding various extra boards/stations to increase community participation and adding a dedicated 3m harness. After this legacy build phase we will support the building in servicing and maintenance, to maximise the centres longevity ad performance.
